Our Story

About Us

Mossy Crow started as a collaboration between two artists, makers and illustrators Trix Robertson and Miranda La Mutanta. The Mossy Realm evolved from elaborate collages to books, films, puppets, costumes, theatrical sets.

Inspired by the Cornish landscape and folklore, Mossy Crow creates an ever changing and expanding Mossy Realm populated by creatures of the wild imagination.

These creatures emerged into the human world in the guise of the Mossy Troupe who have entertained humans at festivals, events and other magical spaces.

The common thread through all of this work is the impulse to connect with the wild imagination and the desire to inspire and encourage everyone to go outside and discover magical creatures for themselves.

Trix Robertson

CO FOUNDER AND CREATIVE STORYTELLER
Trix is a multimedia artist, storyteller, performer and conservationist with a passion for connecting people with nature through creative play. She draws inspiration from the Cornish landscape and folklore. At Retallack, her beloved home of 30 years, she has planted thousands of trees and nurtured the local flora and fauna creating a beautiful land of healing and magic. With Nature as their guide, Trix and her family have acted as custodians who nurture the landscape to allow its innate beauty to unfurl. Through art, theatre and ritual, Trix enjoys finding ways to connect with the spirit of the land through a myriad of artforms.
Miranda La Mutanta

CO FOUNDER AND CREATIVE STORYTELLER
Miranda is an artist and integrative arts psychotherapist. She is Trix’s partner in crime on all things Mossy. As well as her therapy practice, she specialises in arts for wellbeing and mental health, teaching and facilitating with diverse groups, sometimes using the outcomes to inform large scale interactive installations and public art commissions, with partners such as National Trust, the NHS and European and UK festivals. She also teaches drawing as a meditation practice. Her own art centres around finding ways to express mystery, less conscious layers of experience, and subtle shifting nature. One of her favourite things is supporting people as they find and run with their creative spark.
Daniel Hernandez

TAROT MASTER AND FACILITATOR
Dan is an itinerant mischief-maker exploring the ritual roots of performance. He runs retreats and courses, theatrical interventions, film making, and the creation of spaces where ritual can unfold. He is fascinated by archaic/shamanic clown and mask cosmologies that act as colourful routes into individuation. He draws upon a wide variety of related traditions including Clown & Maskwork, Ritual Theatre, Tarot, Butoh, Contact Improvisation, Vodun, Psychomagic, Art, Sacred Sexuality and Breathwork. From his deep dives into this vast treasure-box of rituals, dance, liminal states, grotesque archetypes and clown-lore he brings back precious gifts to share.
